Description

Artful:Botanics at Norfolk School of Gardening SUMMER TERM

An exciting & enriching course designed by artist and art educator Lucy Perry to immerse students in a world of flora & natural forms through a variety of expressive artistic techniques in a range of media.

Each day will focus on a different media/technique. £100 per day includes all materials, coffee/tea.

SATURDAY 20th APRIL 2024 Beautiful Blooms:
Lucy will guide students through explorations of colourful blooms in a variety of water-based mediums, creating vibrant and lively studies using a range drawing and brushwork techniques. As the day unfolds, students have the freedom to select a specific subject and method for more in-depth exploration.

SATURDAY 11th MAY 2024 Drawing in the Garden:
We will be in the garden (whatever the weather, so come appropriately kitted out!) sketching en plein air to observe and record plant forms and spaces in a variety of ways using experimental and creative drawing techniques.
After a structured set of exercises students will have the opportunity to select their favourite areas of the garden for longer, in-depth studies.

SATURDAY 13th JULY 2024 Artful Cyanotypes - wet cyanotype process.
Learn the fascinating technique of wet cyanotype printmaking - another exciting way to directly capture botanical forms using the power of the sun. It’s the most perfect way to capture botanical forms - wet cyanotypes are fascinating, organic exposures full of colour and pattern.
